We know you want your utility payment to be processed properly. Here are a few tips to ensure that happens.
- If possible, return your payment coupon with your check. Do not staple together.
- Always write your account number on your check. The account number is located on your payment coupon.
- If handwriting your check, write numbers clearly. Checks are scanned by machine.
- Make sure checks are not wrinkled. They will not be accepted by the scanner.
- To avoid a $25 return check fee, verify you have sufficient funds in your bank account to cover your payment.
- To avoid a $25 late fee, your payment must be received no later than 9:00 a.m. on the 1st of every month.
- Late fees are also applied to accounts that are not paid in full for the month.
- You can make one time payments or set up automatic monthly payments at this website: https://portal.munibilling.com/sign-in
- If you have not set up a username and password for access to your utility bill account online, please contact City Hall at 770-993-4231 to request access. Once you get a username and password set up you will be able to log in and make online payments.
ANTI-BACKFLOW VALVE
By law, the City of Mountain Park is required to install ant-backflow devices with all new meters installed. Each homeowner will be charged the cost of the device and its installation totaling $55. This amount will be included in your monthly utility bill and will be distributed over a 3 month billing period.
WAYS TO REDUCE YOUR WATER USAGE
- Check for leaks inside and outside your house.
- When washing dishes by hand, don’t let the water run while rinsing. Fill one sink with wash water and the other with rinse water.
- Some refrigerators, air conditioners and ice-makers are cooled with wasted flows of water. Consider upgrading with air-cooled appliances for significant water savings.
- Adjust sprinklers so only your lawn is watered and not the house, sidewalk or street.
- Run your clothes washer and dishwasher only when they are full. You can save up to 1,000 gallons a month.
- Choose shrubs and groundcovers instead of turf for hard to water areas such as steep slopes and isolated strips.
- Install covers on pools and spas and check for leaks around your pumps.
- Plant in the fall when conditions are cooler and rainfall is more plentiful.
- Monitor your water bill for unusually high use. Your bill and water meter are tools that can help you discover leaks.
- If your shower fills a one gallon bucket in less than 20 seconds, replace the showerhead with a water efficient model.
