The City of Mountain Park is governed by a mayor and five-member city council, elected to office on staggered four-year terms.
Regular meetings of the mayor and council are held at the city hall or at such other place as may be designated, on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. If the fourth Monday falls on a legal holiday, the council meeting shall be held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Scott Read brings over 25 years of leadership experience to City Council, spanning diverse industries, non-profit, and government service. He’s worked for small and medium-sized businesses to Fortune 10 companies. A U.S. Army veteran, Scott holds an MBA from Kennesaw State University and a BSEE from the University of South Florida. Scott brings critical thinking to council and rigorous fiscal discipline with a holistic business view. Scott has a proven strategic, operational, and financial business acumen that leverages the breadth of his experiences in engineering, corporate finance, customer service, and marketing.
Scott currently sits on two company boards as well as non-profit. He serves as CFO for an Investment Holding company, managing a technology consulting firm’s financial and treasury affairs, a manufacturing company, and a parts distribution company. Scott has served as Senior Director of Program and Brand Management for the Knights of Columbus (an international non-profit dedicated to community service) and AT&T as an engineer and financial analyst. Scott and his family have lived in Mountain Park for 12 years, where he has served Mountain Park previously as a City Councilman. email
